Shopping help of a condenser microphone?
My friends birthday is approaching fast and some of my friends and I all agreed put a little money for a condenser microphone. My question is, what are the accessories needed for that? Http: / / cgi.ebay.com.au / ws / eBayISAPI.dll? & Item = 320422546048 ViewItem & ssPageName = STRK: MEWAX: IT I thought to do, but it was not sure if we need something else to do … we need a cable for him so? if so, what cable, we decided to plug it into your Mac. In addition, we need software for it, what is the best, cheap software because we are on a limited budget. And this stand? Sorry if any of my questions are stupid, I know that limited enough about microphones. Also, sorry for the poor choice of category, I do not really have many more options: /
I not recommend the microphone in the link you posted. This brand is pretty crappy in my experience (with the exception of their monitors). another post suggested a SM-58 and I agree it's a good mic to start. usually with a microphone, you'll need a stand clip, XLR (MIC) of cable pop filter. check and see what comes with the microphone that you choose to see if you need to buy something else. as far as the software you need to obtain an interface to connect an XLR microphone on your computer. These can be quite cheap to very expensive. if they are only going to sing, you can get a basic interface. if they will be the tapes and drums and everything you want one, with lots of inputs that cost more expensive. it would be more advantageous for you to get a USB microphone. wih this type of microphone, you can connect to your computer without interface. If your friend is using a Mac what they already have the necessary software (GarageBand) to begin recording. they do not have a Mac and GarageBand can download free audacity. I like XLR mic via a USB port for the simple fact that the only way I ever made. I'm not familiar with USB microphones, but I know they are becoming more popular and a lot of good microphones are now going out with USB connections. for the price and convenience, I would get a USB microphone. read some reviews to see what is good, and from there.
